English is not my native language but I discovered here by chance. I want to train my English writing skills so I start blogging here.
I don't expect to update here quite often, in case you want to know more about me and by chance you understand traditional Chinese, I have a newsletter for you to subscribe :), and it is updated every Thursday, at least this is how things go on since 2026:
Why it is named RTFM
I use Linux on-and-off for more than 20 years but currently my daily driver is a Mac. In the past (or perhaps even now) Linux community is infamously for being unfriendly to new users when they ask questions especially when asking without a thought, then those users will get a RTFM (read the f**king manual) in the reply. I think this name would be quite funny for a blog and certainly many people will understand by seeing the 4 letters. ;)
What I can expect to see here
Here I would share my life. Recently one of my hobbies is to take photos with a Kodak Charmera and a film camera F8. But I am not really good at photography. The image at the top is a photo I took with Chamera.
I read books too. Kobo Libra BW is my favourite e-book reader, sometimes I read English books but mostly you can find me reading Chinese or Chinese-translated books. Cinema is also a place I spend a lot time with my partner.
I love Japan as well, from Japanese tokusatsu to anime and J-pop songs. It is also a country which I visit nearly every year. I know a little bit Japanese, been learned it in a language school in early years, gave up and picked it up again last year in a one-on-two class.
