Film photos

Yes, I took film photos.

I have a toy camera Kodak F8. I love the texture of film photos. Sometimes they can be blur, sometimes they can be dim. When you took indoor photos, the only object you would see is the object that you put flashlight on. How amazing it is.

You can even have strange effects on the photo if you let some light to leak inside your camera, or use some outdated films. You can be surprised if you take long enough to take your finished films to get developed.

It doesn't mean that digital photos or those pictures taken by your phone are bad. But sometimes they are just too good and acute, and reflect things too clearly. Digital photos are records, film photos are creations.

Last week I took two rolls of my used films to get developed. One is Fujicolor C400 I bought and used weeks ago. Another one is Kodak ColorPlus 200 I took in 2024 which I did not take it out from camera until recently. They are pictures I took in Japan, in my neighbourhood and in some events with my partner and her family members. I loved the Kodak ones as they looked really good with Japan sceneries.

The photos I took in Japan are Himeji Castle and Kurashiki respectively. Himeji Castle is one of the oldest castle survived from the destruction of war and bombardment, while Kurashiki is a beautiful town in Okayama Prefecture. I still remember the hot and sunshine in this trip.

Film photos always bring good memories and peacefulness to me.
